PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DAN BUDI PEKERTI DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN THINK PAIR SHARE

Abstract

This research aims to determine the steps for implementing the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model and its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character at SMP Negeri 8 Jambi City. The research used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method in classes IX A and IX B with data collection techniques in the form of tests, interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. The implementation of TPS is carried out through several steps, namely forming pairs according to their seats, independent thinking activities (Think), discussion in pairs (Pair), and presentation of results (Share). The research results showed an increase in learning outcomes in both classes. In class IX A, the average score increased from 72.91 (48%) in cycle I to 78.51 (81.48%) in cycle II, and 88.14 (100%) in cycle III. In class IX B, the average score increased from 74.48 (69.57%) in cycle I to 80.43 (82.61%) in cycle II, and 88 (100%) in cycle III. Thus, the TPS learning model has proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes.
