Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the activity of reading Surah Yasin is a participatory activity involving madrasah residents (students, teachers, madrasah heads). This activity begins with reading Surah Yasin together, led by the imam. This activity is carried out every day on Friday mornings. In the morning after the bell rings, the students flock to the yard or prayer room, in this case there is an instilling of a spirit of discipline and responsibility which is instilled from an early age. The process of forming character education through the activity of reading Surah Yassin inserted implicitly in it so that it becomes a guide for students in their behavior. This research is descriptive qualitative by collecting data using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Collaboration between teachers in educating students' character, giving attention to all students when reciting yasin, giving advice to students and giving sanctions to students who have unsatisfactory character. Teacher obstacles in developing student character through Yasinan activities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 4 Batang Hari, namely lack of guidance and attention from some parents towards religious habits and character and the influence of cellphones. and various social media. The results obtained by teachers in developing student character through Yasinan activities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 4 Batang Hari are strengthening the sense of faith in students, increasing commendable character in students and implementing unity among educators in providing character education.
